Lost World in Sabah
Have you heard about MELIAU BASIN. It’s located at Sabah and known as a LOST WORLD IN SABAH, Why…? I’m a Sabahan but I don’t know what is all about this Lost World in Sabah. The chit-chat at Coffee shop saying that Meliau Basin was once owned by Prince of Swiss. Heemm??, How can be? A real question mark here. I’ve gone through the Internet, but couldn’t find the answer. If somebody has a story about it or a website to refer to Iwould appreciate if you can share with me. I’ve been to the boundary of this Meliau Basin on hunting, trip; my journey take 8 hours from Tawau through Kalabakan Road and Imbak. I went there with my Ford Extreme (Sold already 2 years ago). And, I’m glad to say that, this Meliau Basin is still exist in Sabah, Meaning that Meliau Basin is not a Lost World in Sabah. But why they saying? Please find here,a Map of SABAH showing the location of Meliau Basin and a documentary from the Camel Trophy Exhibition.
The Camel Trophy Exhibition through the Basin Area Before we ended here. I ‘ve seen thewonderfull of Meliau Basin, but in a Calender that hanging at one of the coffee shop in Kalabakan Camp. Anyone interested to know more about it. You can start search the answer now before this Meliau Basin really lost.. Good Luck and please keep inform me what you have? See U Sooonnn…!!! Cool man. One of these days, I must join you and we go hunting. Must experience this place at least one in lifetime!
Hai Kay,
Your wish will be granted, as long as you bring Datok Sheikh Muzaffar Shah with You.

my friends, I got some news;
i) Now the Maliau Basin are underway to nominate the area as a World Heritage Site.
ii) In 2002 they celebrated the ground breaking for the Maliau Basin Studies Centre Site by HRH Prince Henrik of Denmark => the point is, why him??
iii) By now, Maliau Basin only about 25% of the total area have been mapped, and less than 10% have been studied intensively.
